I consider myself to be an "armchair traveller". For example, I enjoy reading the works of people like Bill Bryson, who always seems to find the weird and wonderful on his travels, and a couple of years ago I worked out how it would be possible for me to hop onto a train at my local railway station, and a scant six days later alight in Beijing, having trevelled by train the entire distance (except for having to get a taxi across Moscow from one station to another). Well, I thought it might come in useful should I have decided to attend the Olympic Games.
That is one of my great loves of Second Life. In the relatively short time I've used it, I have visited a number of places that I lack the means and the wherewithal to visit in RL. And so, gentle reader, I will be sharing some of the places with you, as I continue my virtual peregrination around Second Life. The places I shall list here will all be ones that have, in some way, touched me, or called out to that small piece of me within that is possessed of a sense of unfulfilled wanderlust, or have quite simply shown me something thatI would not, or indeed could not, ever see in RL. If you, gentle reader,, can take something of benefit from my own experiences, then I would consider mmy efforts worthwhile. If not, then, I hope at least to have been able to provide a moment's diversion, and perhaps raised a smile. So take my hand, and let us see what we shall see...
